A warm welcome to our customers in 2016

Since taking on Garden Solutions in 2008 our customer numbers have continued to grow considerably. Many new customers are as a result of recommendation by established customers. We would like to thank everyone who has so kindly written or emailed and sent pictures of their garden to let us know how much difference our composts and mulches have made.

The value of soil conditioning prior to planting can never be over emphasized. Whether it is a new garden or an old established one the benefits of digging in a soil improver such as Re-shredded Mushroom Compost are important. Soil structure will be improved, especially on heavy clay soils. On light sandy soils the added humus will improve water holding. In all cases a source of gentle feeding readily available to plants is provided.

In the years following the main soil conditioning, soil structure can be maintained using mulches to give summer and winter protection and also provide a continued source of gentle feed.

Our products can also be purchased from Redhouse Garden Centre, Longniddry and Growforth, Dunfermline.

Many scientific studies are proving the health benefits, both physical and mental, of gardening. It is regarded as an excellent form of exercise for all levels of fitness and most people will continue with working throughout the year in their gardens long after the novelty of the “New Year’s Resolution” of going to the gym has worn off.

Colin Crosbie, Curator at Wisley Garden agrees that gardening is the perfect way to stay healthy.

“The great thing about gardening is that it can be both energetic and relaxing at the same time,” he says, “It is an all year round activity — even in the winter you can be raking the leaves, working in the greenhouse or doing some pruning. And there is nothing better than being able to stand back and admire the fruits of your labour.”

We look forward once again to assisting you make your gardens look more beautiful and become more productive using our products.
